Stefanie Brodie, PhD
Dr. Stefanie Brodie has spent over 15 years conducting and administering research across all sectors (public, private, academic, non-profit). She is skilled in discovering data, examining and analyzing findings, and synthesizing disparate information to produce deep insights. Regularly employing a mixed methods research approach, Dr. Brodie is an interdisciplinary researcher who draws from various industries and fields of knowledge. Still, her passion lies in her area of expertise, transportation planning and policy and sustainable urban development.
Dr. Brodie’s career as a transportation professional has been focused on advancing equitable, data-driven, and future-focused systems and she has worked to make equity commonplace in transportation planning for over a decade. She has a strong track record of developing analytical frameworks, synthesizing lessons from practice and research, and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences through publications, presentations, and practice guidance.
Her experience in applied research was developed through her roles at the District Department of Transportation in Washington DC, United States Department of Transportation, and the multimodal transportation planning and engineering firm, Toole Design, along with her education and research at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She carries a combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing equity in transportation and many other systems.
